FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

What is TwoTwentyTwo.Space?

It’s a contemporary experimental artist studio and residency space in Wayanad, Kerala - built for artists, writers, designers, filmmakers and creative thinkers to step away from noise, and immerse themselves in focused creation. It’s not just a studio, but a sanctuary for experimentation across fine arts, photography, visual design, filmmaking and more.

Who is this space for?

This studio is for creators, artists, and thinkers who seek a pause from the world’s noise. It is a space to work with intention, to immerse in the forest and lakeside stillness, and to let ideas take shape without distraction. Whether you’re building a creative body of work, or simply deepening your practice, this is a place designed to hold that process. It is more than a vacation home, but a working retreat for those who create.

How do I book?

Check our 'Visit us' page for booking inquiries. More informations mentioned below.

How long can I stay?

Residencies and studio use are designed for immersion. That means the minimum stay is  2 - 7 days, including weekends. The number of days can be stretched depending on mutual agreements and payment.

What’s the environment like?

The studio sits by the waters of Banasura Lake, facing the expanse of the Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a gated cottage, yet open to the rhythms of the forest — cicadas at dusk, mist over the lake at dawn, and the occasional visit from creatures who call this wilderness home. The environment is minimal and intentional: quiet enough for thought, raw enough to remind you that you are creating at the edge of the wild.

Is the studio air-conditioned?

No. The space is naturally aerated, designed to let in the forest breeze and the lake’s cool air. Instead of air-conditioning, you’ll find two high-speed modern fans to keep the cottage comfortable, while still staying connected to the natural climate of Wayanad.

Is it safe for families or children?

Safety is your responsibility.
This is a gated studio for artists and creators, however, it’s inside the wild forest facing the mighty Banasura Lake. If you’re staying with a spouse/partner or kid(s), you must ensure their safety at all times. Children must always remain in your line of sight. After 8 PM, it gets dark quickly and the off-road path near the quarry is not recommended to cross. Do not wander into deeper forest areas alone.

Is this pet friendly?

The space is pet-friendly.
Please keep your pet(s) within sight so they don't chew on plants, insects that might get them sick and comfortable in this open environment. They should not litter any disposed trash playfully. Keep leashes handy. Ensure to bring their specific food and necessary medications.
Local friendly stray dogs and cats often visit the studio - they are part of this ecosystem too. Be gentle, but keep them in your safety eye-sight.

Please bring your own soap, shampoo, sanitary items, or diapers. Do not throw sanitary products or diapers into the commode or outdoors. Dry waste and organic waste must be packed separately for disposal. Cigarette butts, alcohol bottles, or any other items are your personal responsibility to carry out.

Will there be support?

Yes, but only what’s necessary. You’ll be largely independent, with necessary guidances and help available on call. Make sure to fill your fuel before entering the studio, as routes are usually lengthy from the ‘touristic’ places. We encourage you to be explorative to local trekking, and adventure activities within your responsible safety measures.
